I've experienced a sys failure on my dell gx280 desktop. The dir win/sys/sys32/config is missing.?

As a result I can't log onto windows. I have all the resource cds. I attempted a repair but the option isn't available, only the reinstallion option is and that will delete every file. I want to save at least My Doents and Settings folder. Please what are my options? Thanks
