What does the term "priceless" acually mean?

I was reading an article about the Crown Jewels recently and it referred to them as being priceless but what does this actually mean? I understand that they are special and are totally unique but there must be a price that they are worth...i know they would never be sold but if they were then there must be a monetary figure that could be placed on them...
